I recently upgraded from a 24x CD-R to a DVD burner that writes CD's at 48x. At the same time i upgraded from Nero 5.5, to Nero 6 Ultra. Ever since this upgrade, i have noticed no increase in the speed of writing CD-R's in fact it even seems to have slowed down!
With my previous 24x CD-R/W drive, a CD-R disc could be written in approx just over 3mins (about 3/4 full or around 450-500mb). My new drive with nero 6, takes 5 minutes or more, occasionaly even longer.
I am using the correctly rated discs (48x), and have tried various different makes, to no avail, and yes, the speed in nero for writing is set to 48x.
I get the impression the different 'burn-proof' software within the firmware may have an affect, but if anyone can suggest a way or speeding this up to its proper performance, i would be grateful!
