Spyware Doctor Command Line

Is there a way to start Spyware Doctor with a command line switch to scan my system then close?

I'd love to be able to schedule scans without having Spyware Doctor running in the background all the time. :D

Hey JRd1st,

SD has an automatic scan feature. To perform an automatic scan go to:

OnGuard=> Scheduler=> Select the type of scan.

Yeah, I know, but SD has to be running all the time for that to work. I don't run SD on Startup or RealTime because it's so slow to open. Also, SD has never caught any threats on my system that would make it worth running all the time.

If SD had command-line scan options, I could use the XP Task Scheduler to open it, scan my PC, then close SD. Plenty of other programs work that way, and for someone that cares about their System performance, that's the way to go.

there isn't a way to have it scan and close from command line, but there IS a way to start scans from the command line. It is completly undocumented, I only found it using a program.

Starting a complete scan - /cs
Starting a quick scan - /qs

there may be more, but i don't know them.

I am suprised that you would pay the money to run Spyware Doctor if you aren't going to use it's real time protection. There are several products out there that are free that have good scanning/removal ability (superantispyware and AVG free come to mind immediately). So I am suprised that you would pay the subcription just for a scanner.

Even though Spywae Doctors scanner is probably best in the business, the big advantage I see to running Spyware Doctor is to have the real time protection.

Hmmm, it's easilly accomplished if you know how to use scripts and such automated programs. Good luck.........

you can get a free version with everything except realtime in google pack

to use windows to sceduel scans use the windows scedueller to start it just before sd has a scan sceduelled
