I have 2 computers, both running XP. One of the computers always seeks the (empty) floppy drive on bootup (after Windows has started), the other doesn't. I have NoDriveTypeAutoRun set to 95 on both machines in the Registry but can't stop the first one from seeking the floppy drive. Short of disabling the floppy, is there anything else I could do?
TIA

It's a setting in the BIOS where Enabling Floppy Seek allows it to be a bootable device then the Boot order can be set to use the floppy.

Thanks Bert, but the Floppy Seek is disabled in the BIOS.

Have you checked whether your AntiVirus program is doing it?

You're probably referring to Norton, that used to do that. But I've switched to another program some time ago. It doesn't go near the A drive unless you specify it when scanning.
I'm also on the same wavelength as you that a non-Windows program may be the culprit but the 2 computers are pretty similar (software-wise) and it's nothing on my startup group.
