How to I set folders to view as List permanent (WXP-Pro)

When opening a cd The view is set to icons.How can I change this so it is always on list?Thanks for any help here

Open Explorer and set up everything just as you want it. Then click on "Tools" - Folder Options - View and put a tick in "Remember Each Folder's View Settings. Then click on "Apply to all folders and "okay" your way out.
