I've restricted access to my 'c' drive (using both GPO's and registry edits) however, if a user opens an MS Office program (such as word) if they type c: in the file box they can see and open any files on the hard-drive. Is there anyway to force office to "comply" with the windows settings? I work in a school and we dont really want the kids getting access to the hard-drive. Thanks.

You don't have to force Office to comply with Windows settings, because if you configured the settings correct it complies... like all other software that runs on those machines.
In my opinion the correct question would be something else.
