Has anyone else noticed this latest update is falsely detecting Adware.Iwantsearch / rundlg32.dll in the C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\ directory ?
I have searched my system and registry for all known related references to this program but cannot find any.
(..oh, and deletion by NAV fails)

Thanks for any advice.

stratcat250, thankyou for your reply, however, the page you suggested is the first place I went. I reiterate that NONE of the files / references / registry entries that Norton / symanted mention exist on my system. Therefor, I was asking if anyone else has experienced NAV returning a 'positive id' of this file, when in fact it does not exist.

The only files in my C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\ folder are:
a)DirectAnimation Java Classes
b)Internet Explorer Classes For Java
c)Shockwave ActiveX Control
Furthermore, 'hidden files and folders' are showing and 'protected operating system files' are NOT hidden, so if were there, id see it.
Thank you.

It looked like a file that could have been hidden easily so I was hoping that it was something you might have missed. I personally haven't seen this show up on my NAV so I can't help you there, sorry. I sure hope you get a responce from someone who has. Are you having any noticiable effects of any adware?

Hi again.
No, there isn't anything specific I can remember in recent months which I could attribute to Adware. I regularly run 'Spybot - Search & Destroy' and 'Spyware Blaster', occasionaly run an old version of AdAware and fairly regularly scan my system with 'HiJack This' and have not found anything for some time. All of which make me more certain that the NAV alert is a false reading caused by the mentioned Virus Def. Update.
Thanks for your help.

I just donwloaded todays NAV Virus Def. Update hoping Symantec would have found and fixed the error, but alas, a fresh scan still claims the file is there. Time for an email to Symantec i think...
