Every time I try to run the VPN set up in routing and remote access wizard in Windows 2000 server, the computer losses it's connection to the other machines on my LAN and it's connection to the internet. I have two network cards installed, static IPs and just accept all the defaults. Any ideas?

Are you using Internet Connection Sharing? I have heard that that can cause the problem you're seeing.

You should correct the settings manually after the wizard finishes.

Right click, properties.
You said that you are using 2 network cards. I presume that 1 for connecting to your local LAN and the second to connect to the Internet.
You said that when you run the wizard the connections to the LAN are lost.
So this makes me to think of 2 things:
1. You didn't managed to get the VPN working.
2. The networkcard that Windows tries to use for VPN is the one that actually is used for LAN, while it should use the one that is used for internet.
Again, these are only supposition, I don't know for sure because you didn't gave us to much details.

So, I presume that the solution to your problem is to make Windows use the right network card for VPN. I only presume. I can not tell you how, because I can not reproduce your situation (I don't have the appropriate hardware).
I had similar problems with PC having Windows XP and 3 network cards: 1 for Internet, 2 others for LAN. The wizard just messed it up, I had to correct the seetings manually.

Hope that I could be some help, if not, eventually I gave some ideas.
