I had a corrupt system file which stopped the boot of my computer and when i copied it from another hard disc I have lost the security center , the Firewall does not start and the icon for my adsl data does not appear any more. Any quick fixes.
I tried using the XP CD but as I have upgraded to SP2 it tellls me there is a leter version on the computer and I will loose my settings.

Go to microsoft.com and look for udate to Firewall.
I now there is some separate update for it.

Is that the McAfee security center that you are referring to or another?

And, what was the missing file?
