Hi all, hope you all having good holidays, just a quick curiousity question if any one knows the best or can advise the best way.

I have a great hobby of overclocking since trading in my missus for a pc :) although I don't set out to fry components, I try to do it as responsible as patiently I can.

I've got a 2800 Barton chip (default multiplier of 12.5) run on a DFI Lanparty NFII rev B M/B currently set to 232fsb with a multiplier x10 which is very stable.

I'd like to know if anybody knows what is a better configuration performance wise

1 - To Lower the fsb and higher the multipler back up towards the default or..

2 - is a higher fsb with a lower multiplier a better option.

I am aiming to keep the clock at around 2300mhz as it wiggs out just after 2400mhz and wont boot. The reason I ask this is i've heard of a bottle neck effect on the processor which i've never really looked into if settings are not balanced out. I'm about to look into the bottleneck effect but thought i'd ask here first as you great people know what your talking about.

Thanks all.. :)

Generally it is considered a wiser idea to lower the multiplier while raising the FSB by excess amounts.
The reason for this is that the multiplier is purely within the CPU. Raising the multiplier causes more stress on your CPU, while raising the FSB clock balances out the pain throughout all your motherboard's components.
