Happy Holidays everyone,
I return home for the holidays to find my old computer infected with a virus of some sort that closes taskmanager and regedit right after they are opened. I have run spybot, registry mechanic, norton and the Computer Associates web-based virus scanner and the problem still persists. Below is a log from Hijack This, if someone can decipher the log and help me fix my problem, I would be much appreciative.

You have more stuff than I can get to at this time. Do this first:

Download, update and run Ad-Aware SE Personal. Remove all files that it finds.

Run an online scan with Trend Micro's Housecall to see if there are any virus' missed by your Anti Virus program.

Go to Start-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs and remove "Wild Tangent" and any other Browser type Helpers that you are unfamiliar with. Please be sure you know what you are removing. If you're not sure post it here.

After you've finished this post a fresh HJK log here and someone will help getting you cleaned up.

If I may remark upon your log - in general, all the things placed in the ...\TEMP folder have been considered suspicious.

Ok balmes, You can also check and fix these files in your HJT scan.

C:\WINNT\system32\OSLXMHKS.EXE

C:\WINNT\system32\prchupnp.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ho7nRhZpT] prchupnp.exe

It may be a good idea to delete the contents of your C:\windows\temp folder.
