I am currently building a computer and I put everything in and when I turned it on I get the BIOS beeps. Long beeps. I consulted the manual and it said that the ram is not installed or detected. I tried a stick of ram from my brothers computer and it doesn't work either. I used my ram in my brothers computer and it works. Why is this and how can I fix it?

Maybe is a faulty graphic card... If it is bundled in the motherboard, try a PCI one, and if it is a PCI (or AGP) card, make sure is well seated in the slot...

Check all frequency settings and their ratios among memory and bus and processor - using documentation. Some unsupported frequency combinations may be there.
Edited: also FSB - if it is correct name.
Edited by josefz on 12/21/04 20:21.
