Is there any program that actually can check for a free program whether it may contain spyware?

There are freewares out there claim to be freeware, but yet sometimes I feel that I have installed a spyware instead of a freeware...

Any actual program can check for it first before I download the so called freeware?

There is no program that will tell you whether free downloads might contain adware, spyware or malware. Some freeware programs do, others do not.

Even if you download a freeware program, the adware, spyware or malware probably won't be detected until after you run the program, and only then by other adware/spyware/malware hunters than the one which installed it.

The best way to protect yourself is to study before downloading. Several reputable download sites have reviews where you can read about other people's experience with the program in question. Two examples are zdnet and cnet. It pays to know what you are downloading, especially if it's "free".
