hai
i have quite a serious problem with my p.c..
two days back i tried to upgrade my o.s which is "win xp" .i bought the "win xp"c.d and tried upgrading the o.s
but to my suprise instead of upgradation .there was another "win xp" setup files which started loading into my computer
i immediately made the exit and now there is this another "winxp"setup alongside my "winxp" o.s..
i want to remove this "setup" from the system.therefore i request for helpfrom anyone who knows how to remove this setup files from the system.. my o.s files are located inside the "D -Drive"in my system..
my processor is "athlon -amd"and my motherboard is "asus"..
somebody told me that "formatting my system again is the only way out of this situation" is it so??
please i request for better suggestions..
looking forward to some great suggestions ...

Are you referring to the list of options given to you when the computer is booting up?
If so, open Windows Explorer in Windows, go to tools, folder options, select the view tab and then select the option that says "show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now go back to Windows Explorer and select the C:\ drive, you should see a file called boot.ini, its here where the options given to you when booting up are set, remove the one you want, save the file, and reboot the computer, your PC should now automatically boot into the correct version without displaying the list.
If this is not what your talking about, then please provide a bit more info and I will try to help.

Cheers
