I have partitioned my SATA drive into my D,E,F drives and I put XP Pro on D with 6 gigs free space before the installation.
I set my pagefile to E, but after SP2 was installed my D drive's free space suddenly turned into 199 MB(more or less).
This is insane... from 6 gigs to 199 MB after SP2 was updated.
Help anyone... cant seem to find the missing spaces.
Thx in advance.

Have you tried running chkdsk on the drive? Chances are the drive's free space is being incorrectly reported.

Chris

..if it ain't broke, I'm determined to fix it..

During the install you get an option to save any files needed to uninstall SP2. If you used that option the files were saved to a hidden folder in your windows directory. There should be a hidden folder in the windows directory named $NtServicePackUninstall$. There should be several other folders labeled $NtUninstallKBnnnnnn$ or $NtUninstallQnnnnnn$. These are folders for windows patch's and updates that can be uninstalled. If you are sure you will not need to uninstall SP2 delete the $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder. I wait about a month or so and then delete the other $.....$ folders for the hotfixes etc.

If you want to clear up more space you can turn off system restore, this deletes all the restore points. Then turn it back on and set a point. You can also delete all but the last restore point in disk cleanup.
