Well Tom, perhaps you can help me to solve my problem with spyware doctor?

I don't use Spyware Doctor but I believe it quarantines or backs-up the files it removes. Restore what it removed and see if that solves the problem.

If I restore the quarantined files, my computer is told that there is spyware, when in fact it's not. I was told by the manufacturer of my music program that, "Often times spyware applications tend to look for particular string and/or binary pattern information within the filename and/or file contents. Because of the way that these applications detect suspected malicious files, they are not 100% accurate in their identification. Benign files are often mistakenly identified as containing information that match patterns similar to those of spyware or virus."
What can I do to solve this? I don't want to lose that music program.

Nancy,

Something is missing here. You said you had just brought your system home from the repair shop and discovered it was full of spyware. How did you discover that? By running Spyware Doctor or some other app.? If the former, it would make sense to restore what it had put asunder. Note: do not arbitrarily believe all the doom and gloom warnings from these programs. They could be false positives.

If you have misgivings about doing this I would invite you to contact Support for Spyware Doctor (located on the side bar of its page).

Also, it could be useful knowing the reason(s) your computer was in the shop.

The spyware was found by the computer shop using 4 different programs...Ad-aware, Registry Mechanic, Spy Sweeper and Privacy Guardian. All, but Spy Sweeper are located in the left bar.
When I got my computer home, I d/l all but Privacy Guardian, plus Spyware Doctor to help eliminate any problems that might pop up...only to find that they screwed up one of my programs (which I've un-installed fully and re-installed with no success).
I've written to the tech support of Spyware Doctor and have only gotten automated responses.
...like talking to a blank wall. How can they ask me to register with their program and buy the full version when they don't even reply to the problem I'm presently having with their program?

Nancy,

If your objective is not to loose the music program, my recommendation is to download the same music program from www.musicmatch.com/download/free.
Next time you use Spydoctor, make sure you add the MusicMatch files are added to the ignore list.

hope this helps..
