Recently after having ran the Spybot S & D to remove adware that has been bugging me for the longest time, it not only failed to remove anything but also took the time to damage my IE. As of then, my Internet Explorer requires me to fully type URLs as in http://www.suchandsuch.com. If ever I simply type www.suchandsuch.com, it tells me that it doesn't exist by giving me some kinda false error message. So ya, any ideas?
Another thing is that although I have used Adaware, Spybot and even the Google toolbar which uses popup block, there is still popups that just show up under IE windows at random when I'm on the net and not even browsing or surfing. Some about poker online and other junk. Any ideas on how to stop that too? Give me a shout if you get anything. Thanks.

P.S. IE isn't a virus, but I needed someone's attention.

I'm serious man... this thing is causing me problems. I'm currently using mozilla.. but IE is one stressful program. Always has these stupid popups.. no matter how many programs I run.. it just keep comin back. Recently its been giving me the whole error message about where u can send an error report or wtv... but its really gettting to bug me... if anyone knows how to stop this monstrosity that microsoft deems worthy of a standard browser, please tell me

If you want to shut down Error Reporting open System Properties go to the Advanced tab and click Error Reporting and then check "Disable Error Reporting.

Also, Kelley's Korner offers a large selection of registry tweaks. Spend some time there but be careful as some of the descriptions are pretty vague.

update your adware, and spybot. sounds more like a hijack to me.

I had one experience. I thought nothing killed the hijack until i realized i had to update the adware file.
