I know of no ways to automatically do what you are wanting.
Of course there are manual ways.

Right click this page and select "Create shortcut" and you will find it on your desktop that you can move to any folder you like.

I personally perform the process a lot and so often that I have streamlined the process for myself.

Firstly, I went to Start, Programs, Accessories. I right clicked on the shortcut for NotePad and selected Properties. There I chose to use Ctrl+Alt+N as it's shortcut.

Secondly I use Clipomatic multiclip clipboard that runs from my startup folder so it is always on the ready.

I'll use the Clipomatic page as an example.
Whenever I download a .exe file I always create a sub-folder within my "Installers" folder for that utility.
With my folder created and my tools in place I do the following:

I download the file to the folder I always download to for scanning for viruses (the folder name is Bryan's Stuff/Zip). IE remembers this folder and wants to download to that folder everytime. (I named it Zip because most downloads were zipped files)

I highlight and copy the text explaining what the utility is.
I then highlight and copy the URL from the address bar.

I hit Ctrl+Alt+N to bring up NotePad.

I type "From:" (without the quotation marks)
I hit Ctrl+V to paste the URL from the Windows clipboard.
I hit Ctrl+Alt+V, 1 to paste the top most item on my clipboard.

It will look exactly like the following:

Clipomatic
Clipomatic is a clipboard cache program - it remembers what was copied to the clipboard even after new data is copied, and allows you to retrieve the old data. While there are many programs that do the same, none are quite so convenient, simple to use, or efficient as Clipomatic.
End Quote

I go to File, Save, name it BryClipomaticRead.txt and save it to that same Zip folder. I name the .txt file as a "ReadMe" file with the program name and my name so I know it is my readme file and not the program's own.
I scan for viruses and when complete I move both to the Bryan's Stuff/Installers/Clipomatic folder for storage. (I also use Ctrl+Alt+B as a shortcut to the Bryan's Stuff folder)

It takes about a week to get used to using Ctrl+Alt+V versus just Ctrl+V to paste items but once you do you no longer have to think about it.

I use Clipomatic every day and many times per day.

So, having a keyboard shortcut to NotePad and the multiclip clipboard makes the process simple and fast.

By no means am I saying that "my way" is any better than anyone elses but just sharing "my way" with you.

Bryan
