I've notice this on some websites about software, whats the difference between retail and ESD?

Retail is a physical product, CD or floppies in a box. ESD is a download from the site. Only difference is that an ESD should be burned onto a CD after downloading if a permanent copy is desired. [ESD is also Electro Static Discharge.]

ESD - Electronic Service Delivery is the provision of services and the ability to access and exchange information electronically.
