I have recently updated my XP Home to Service Pack 2. When using IE I get jumbled up web pages because the text is too large and misaligned. I have tried to reset my text size and this does not work. Also each web page looks different and some come in with the text being very large. BTW, this is a clean copy of XP Home. I had reformatted my disk and reinstalled XP Home prior to XP SP2 update. Additionally, I have scanned my computer with the latest virus definitions and none have been detected. I also used "The Elder Geek's" method of checking for a corrupted version of XP and none was found. I am unable to do method 2 of his fix because XP SP2 does not split IE apart for a seperate download and XP SP2 has a later version of IE

It appears as if my background images are not displaying and this is causing my text to go haywire. When atempting to load a page such as MSN.COM a white background appears with a lot of very large text and the page goes into la la land while trying to download the background image.

Can someone please enlighten me?

This is probably caused by the 'High Contrast' box being selected in the Appearance and Themes menu from the control panel.

In Internet Options > Advanced tab, check to see that "Automatic image resizing" is checked (Multimedia section).

Also, on IE Menu bar click View > Text size. If the setting is higher than Medium that could be a contributing factor.

Hey Guys,

I'm having the same problem too. Has anyone came up with a solution yet?

Thank goodness I found someone else with this same issue. I spent all day trying to get rid of it. My next step was to reload XP SP2, but it appears you have tried that. Did you ever get this fixed? Thank you!
