It just shuts down

Im having problems with my IE just shutting down by itself for no apparent reason when I try to vist certain web sites. I can't see any consistency with the type of site that might be causing it, but I know that I can try the smae site over and over again and it does the same thing. Even when I try to visit area like the Yahoo chat rooms IE just shuts down with no warning or error message or anything... it just closes. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Im runnig IE 6 on WinXP SP 2. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if this is your exact problem but pay particular attention to the "Introduction" on the following MS article: "<a target="_blank" href=http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130&product=windowsxpsp2>Programs that are known to experience a loss of functionality when they run on a Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer</a>"

I im sorry I failed to mention that this was happening before i ever installed SP2. In fact I was hoping that SP2 would correct the problem but it didn't. Thanks for the reply anyway.
