I am not familiar with the product but PCMag gives it a pretty good review.
MailwasherPro (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1621444,00.asp>http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1621444,00.asp</a>

Personally) to filter the spam and McAfee to protect against viruses.
Mailwasher offers a 30 trial.

I do have a copy of the original totally free version of Mailwasher. I was so impressed with the program I very quickly upgraded to the Pro version. At the time the free and Pro versions were identical with the exception of a built in ad soliciting for a donation ("tip").

Firetrust has since bought out Mailwasher and have produced several newer incarnations of the product. I continue to use the older version although I have all of the newer versions on hand.

Right click and select "Save target as" on the following link if you would like a copy of the original and totally free installer of <a target="_blank" href=http://home.comcast.net/~bryconow/mailwasher2b.exe>Mailwasher</a> 1.8Mb. I can no longer find it on the internet even though the maker (Nick Bolton) previously claimed that it will always be available for free. I will leave it on my web space until Wednesday night or until you advise when you are done with my link (whichever comes first).

report_2,

Thanks for the Mailwasher download link. At present I have virtually no spam but this will probably not last forever. /images/forums/icons/laugh.gif

Thank you for the reply,,, I also once had the orginal mailwasher version, but deleted it. I kind of wanted a program that recognized and deleted "phishing" emails and MailFrontier claims to do that and even more, "email security" type things. Does MailWasher Pro see and delete incoming phishing emails???

I honestly don't know if it does or not. I am using Pro version 3.4 and there have been six upgrades since that version.
The version I am using does not.

I keep it real simple. If the address the mail is coming from is not recognizable such as wlkhjg@whatever.com then it gets deleted.

If a friend sends me email from a new address that I am not familiar with then it too gets deleted.

A lot like my US Mail mail box.

Tom. I see very little spam.
I will take the program off of my webspace now.

Would it be possible to get a copy of the original and totally free installer of Mailwasher 1.8Mb from you? I used it for over a year and was very satisfied. A conflict occured for some reason, and I tried to reinstall the program and lost it entirely. Thank for any help you may wish to offer. Jim,

Thank you for the link. For some reason (I would guess on my end) I could not connect to it. I sent you a PM with the message of denial. Hoping you can correct the situation for me. Thanks again for your help. Jim,
