Sudden icon change! (W98)

Throughout my computer, all my jpg and bmp icons have changed to a notepad icon. They still open as a picture. Confused, please help.

Generally, finding and deleting the file ShellIconCache [no extension] in the C:\Windows folder and rebooting will correct the problem. So will using TweakUI 1.33 from <a target="_blank" href=http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp>http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp</a> and its Repair Icons section. [TweakUI 1.33 is for all versions of Windows, 95/NT4 and later EXCEPT WinXP.]
