How to remove the passwd window?

I am the only user on my home pc, everytime i boot my pc it waits at the password window, i tried entering without the passwd and even tried removing the default.pwl file(it waits for the passwd for user default). This started happening ever since i installed a new network card in my pc for DSL. Can anybody help me to resolve this problem?
