Open With... (W98)

Hi,

After installing Paint Shop Pro, all my JPeg's open with this program, I cannot get them to open with anything else as there is no Open With feature.

I recently installed Quick Time and now ALL my JPeg's and MPeg's open with Quick Time!

How do I get to at least have a say as to what programs open my programs, It's so easy with ME onwards!

Each of those programs give the option to not have them the default for jpegs and mpegs.

If you use WMP, go into its options/properties menus and have WMP regain default for those types of files you want WMP to handle.

For the jpegs download <a target="_blank" href=http://www.irfanview.com/>Irfanfiew</a> (freeware) image viewer and configure it to handle all your image files.

You can also left-click once on any .jpg/.jpeg file [or any other file type], hold down the Shift key and right-click the file name, choose Open With... and from the resulting window choose the program you want it to always open with.

If the association persists after following Tom and Bert's advise then the program has a setting to "reclaim associations" and will need to be turned off for that program.
