When I set up my new computer, I mistyped my name during the set up. The main folder has my name wrong, when I try to change it, I get error message that it is a system folder and can not be renamed or moved. It is only a cosmetic problem but it is very annoying seeing my name wrong all the time. All cookies & paths show name wrong. I have tried to edit registry but it keeps adding a new folder instead of renaming main folder.

See if this helps. <a target="_blank" href=http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php?id=32>Changed Registered Owner</a>

I went in there and 'Registered Owner' is correct. It seems that under the main directory tree, under 'Documents and Settings, First folder is 'Administrator, Second folder 'All Users' and Third folder 'Billy Davie' not (Billy David) as it should be. User account show 'Billy David' but because this main folder is wrong all cookies and paths are wrong

Would it work to create a new user with the correct name of 'Billy David' and give Administrative rights then let the new user take ownership of the 'Billy Davie' files and documents, deleting/removing 'Billy Davie' when done?
Check the options available in Help and Support and a search on removing user.
