Low color icons (W2K)

Hi everybody!! I'm new here

My windows' Desktop shows icons with 8-bit color
I change the registry key "Shell Icon BPP" to 16, 24, 32 and nothing
I deleted the ShellIconCache file and nothing
I applied the tweak manager and nothing

Whats wrong?

It's tough to tell without knowing a little more about your system.

1)How is the system color set, 16 bit or 32 bit color. (setting should be in Display Properties)?

2) What kind of video card is installed?

3) What kind of monitor?

Also, is this something that just occurred or is it ongoing? If problem just occurred, what did you change or add just before?
