INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0 INSANE ASYLUM! (WXP-Home)

Hello.. I use Windows XP home edition.....Here lately everytime I open Internet Explorer...it will open my home page( yahoo)
BUT WHEN I TYPE SOMETHING IN THE YAHOO SEARCH AND CLICK ON SEARCH, INTERNET EXPLORER SHUTS DOWN. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN I GOTO HOTMAIL AND CLICK ON SIGHN IN
IT JUST SHUTS DOWN...I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO...PLEASE HELP
