Does it show a name of the ????.js or just show *.js?
*.js file can easily be malicious to your PC.

Do you want it to just go ahead and download the *.js or stop asking if you want it and not download it?
I don't think the popup is in regard to an error in the script. It is asking if you want to download it.
Go to IE Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, Custom Level and set your permissions for Active X controls and Java permissions as desired.
Re: the greyed out box...Go to Start, Settings, Folder Options, File Types tab, Scroll down to "JScript Script File". Select it and hit the Properties button. In the Edit File Type dialog box you will see near the bottom and on the right side a box to place a check that reads "Confirm open after download". Place a check in that box. If it is already there then remove it and replace it. Click Apply and Ok.
On a side note: I have the default setting for JScript Script file (and .reg files) set as "Edit" instead of Open to help prevent malicious scripts from running on my PC. I also use <a target="_blank" href=http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/programs.asp?Program=Script%20Sentry>Jason Levine's Script Sentry</a> to block scripts from executing on my PC. It uses no resources and does not load to the PC. It works through the File type associations. Real simple and free. It's worth having.

Guess what.. none of your three methods work.. But thanks anyway...
However, I found out why it's not working in my IE. Some visitor checked a filter incoming header in One of my brower blocker program-- Proxmation . I checked that off and it's working now.
thanks anyway
