ScanDisk (W98)

Running Win98SE. Cannot get ScanDisk or Defrag to run even from Safe Mode. What can I do?

Tell us more.
Does it give you a unique error message?
Does it stick at 0%?

If it sticks at 0% you have too many things running and writing ot the drive and then it has to start over...hit ctrl-alt-del and kill everything but explorer.exe

Try this> Go into your C:\ Drive. In the menu bar go to Tools\Folder Options. Select Show Hidden Files and Folders then click Apply and OK. While in the C:\Drive go into Windows and delete the Folder named APPLOG. Restart the computer. Run ScanDisk then Disk Defragmenter. Thats how I used to fix it before I started using XP.
