problem after re-installing Win98... (W98)

I just re-installed Windows 98 (well, actually, I installed it on a new hard drive because my original hd is corrupt) and I'm having a problem with my monitor. I have a 21" monitor with great resolution but after the installation of Win98, my resolution is very low. I've tried to change the settings but they seem to be set in stone. The resolution settings were not like this on previous hd.

I've never installed an OS before so I don't know if I did something wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,
These types of things can occur if you don't have your monitor and video drivers installed or the latest ones. The video and monitor drivers that come w/ Win98SE are severely archaic by this point, and also very primitive to begin with. If you don't have the drivers on disc, then I would go to your manufacturer's website, get them, and install them.
That *should* fix it. It fixes this problem for *me.* But Windows is Windows...it likes to mess with your head. ;)
