How to disable or hide the Add hardware from control panel (WXP-Pro)

How to remove the Add hardware icon or all the icons in the Control Panel through the registry editor.

The items in the Control Panel carry the extension of .cpl in C:\WINDOWS\system32. Renaming hdwwiz.cpl to hdwwiz.cp! and rebooting should render it invisible in any version of Windows.
