These days, problems over problems. Here is the latest ! The day befor yesterday I checked my mail and browsed the internet, closed normally the computer and went to bed. This morning, the computer would not start ! On pressing the start button, nothing happens at all ! Is it a software problem or hardware failure ? And if hardware, what to suspect ? Hard drive dead or power supply unit dead ? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

if you pressed the power button and did not hear it fire up, then that is a hardware failure.... if it powered on and did not go into windows that is software failure..

i don't complain. i just tweak until my arms
fall off.... tweakability is the code name of windows.
if it 1st down work. tweak it out until it does.

It could be something really simple like the Surge protector was tripped during the night.
Reset it or plug the pc directly into the wall outlet to be sure.

I had the similar problems, but my power supply works. I know because i could press cd-rom and it opens the door. I had to reboot few times to make it work....
It could be my hard drive?!
