I installed a "Telex H-551 USB Stereo Headset with Microphone"
My problem:
The original installation did not install 3 times as suggested by the manual.
When I start my computer the Wizard detects a new device and installs the software naming it "Unknown Device" and then the headset does not work.
If I remove the unknown device and unplug from the USB port, restart my computer and simply plug the headset back into the USB port I find everything within System Devices and in Multimedia as I should and the headset works as expected.
When I restart my computer it installs the unknown device and nothing works. I check within System Information and find No conflicts listed.
I have tried several things including re-installing and during this procedure, when I search on the disc for the microphone drivers it states there are none found.
Within C:...Windows\INF\Other I find the file
"Telextelex.inf" I tried renaming it to "Telex.inf", I tried copying it to Windows\INF to no avail.

Under system information/hardware history I find:
Intel Host controller with driver usbhub.sys 5/26/1999 8:0 size: 27184
this driver is also listed for USB Root Hub and USB Composite Device
I also find:
Telex USB 1 (or I) 2C.inf (USBI2C.inf) with the driver by the same name with the .sys extention 6/7/2000 2:29 PM size: 3872
USB Audio Device with driver USBAUDIO.sys 5/11/1998 8:1 AM size: 34032
and Microsoft Kernel System Renderer with driver:
sysaudio.sys 5/11/1998 8:1 AM Size: 38928

When I search find files created since 19Sep (when I first installed the device) I find in:
C:\WINDOWS/SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
USBi2C.SYS 4 KB 6/07/2000
SYSAUDIO.SYS 39 KB 5/11/1998
USBAUDIO.SYS 34 KB 5/11/1998
C:\WINDOWS\INF
USBi2C.INF 2KB 6/07/2000
C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER
Telextelex.inf 2KB 6/07/2000

I was excited to use my new hardware but am frustrated with having to unplug it when done and then plugging it in to use it again after Start-up.
Hopefully I have provided all I need for you to assist me. If not, please ask away so I may enjoy my new Telex H-551 Stereo Headset w/Microphone.
I am running Windows 98 first edition with Service Pack 1. Pentium III 450 mhz, 128mb RAM and 13GB hard drive with 4GB available on my C: Drive.
