Something I've installed has apparently killed the Shift-Delete (remove and do not send to the Recycle Bin) function in windows Explorer (Win 98 SE). Is there anywhere that I can force this function back?

And is Num Lock off when you use Shift-Delete?

Yes, NumLock is definitely off and toggling it several times has no effect. At one point, I could get Shift-Del to work if I repeated the sequence a few times, eventually getting the delete option instead of Recycle Bin (it actied sort of like something was stuck), but that no longer works. I've tried every keyboard-related trick that I know that might account for stuck keys.
