like that even matters
but just because you asked its IE 5.5
I say it doesnt matter because it has done this with IE 5 and even 4
so, does this help any in the answer of what can be done to discontinue the closing of IE when a zip file is downloaded

Well Ive been rudely and condescendingly admonished by a 13 yr old. IE 3.0 opens it's own seperate window when you download. I needed to know what version. Obviously if I could supply your fix I wouldn't.
enjoy :)

ha
my age is as much relevance as what version of browser
who is being rude?
who is using 3.0?
my guess is no one
and whoever is needs to get out of the cave and upgrade
and even if I was using a dinosaur browser, that still has nothing to do with why a zip CLOSES the current window the link is in as none of the browser are supposed to do that by default

This thread is getting closed, POBrien, who has helped out a lot of people around here, asked a quite reasonable follow-up question. From my observations, snide comments to would-be helpers turn them and anyone else generous enough to help away.
