Problem in internet explorer (WXP-Pro)

I am having a problem with my internet connection. If it is not used for a while browser doesn't work , then i have to reboot or have to disable or enable network connection to make it work agaain.But at the same time when browseer doesn't work mail clint works perfectly. Whaat could be a problem plz help...

You didn't mention what type of Internet connection you are using.

If you have a broadband cable connection, try power cycling the modem.
a) unplug the modem's power source ... wait about 30 seconds and then plug it in.
b) after all the little blinky lights are functioning, reboot your system.
