I have just got this from my favourite software site. It's good, and as it's M$, no problems with third party 'tweaks'.

Just unzip, and right mouse click on the *.inf file > Install

but...
oh yeah....
i found two GREAT performance boosters for windows 2000. Both by O&O software. (oo-software.com)

the first is clever cache, very nice little util, you know how windows NT HOGS (and i mean big fat hogs with mud all over) memory, before this util ppl were left with 3 options, deal with it, get more RAM, or disable "run in seperate memory space" and hope for the best. But this Utility lets you set how often the cache auto updates (so you dont loos critical data) and most importantly adjusts the cache size according to total mem, or you can munually set it. the performance gained by this small app is killer, esp. for only using 1000k mem itself (oh and it stops "random" or swapping and other nuesances)

the other is Defrag V.2 (get the 30-day trial not freeware) cuz it has more options, otherwise NT defrag is just as good. It lets you defragment the hard drive, WOW huh?, but you can set it to defrag files that are currently in use next boot, like pagefile, registry, ect... and brings them up in the "starting up" screen b4 windows loads and defrags, they also have a prog to defragment the master file table!!

Thanks a lot ... It's very helpful .

BTW ... Can I delete its key in regedit (...\Run) after tweak ? (to keep Startup at the lowest resources)
