Hi

I have a major problem on a PC.

Installed on the machine is something called slotch bar and it is impossible to remove. I have tried running anti virus software but I cannot get it to run all I get taken to is a Web site where nothing appear on the screen. I have downloaded spybot and run it it detects and destroys all the spy ware but after a reboot it is all back again. I cannot install any windows updates basically the machine is becoming unusable. I want to aviod formatting if possible as there are some business files that I need to keep. I don;t want to back these up now with the risk of keeping infected files. The machine has not had any windows updates for a long time including SP1 simply because it is used in another office over a dial up connection. Can anyone suggest a way to permanently remove slotch bar and its subsiduries.

Cheers

M

HAVE YOU DELETED THE FOLLOWING ITEMS
(SPYBOT SHOULD HAVE LISTED THEM WHEN IT RAN):
1-.DLL FILES ADDED
2- CHANGES TO REGISTRY (BE SURE TO MAKE A BOOT DISK 1ST BEFORE DOING THIS & TEST IT)

AFTER REMOVING EACH THING-REBOOT 1ST BEFORE DOING THE NEXT. HOPE THIS WORKS.
