My computer runs WinME and Win2000. WinME has been my default OS. Recently while updating the OS from microsoft windows update it crashed on restarting. Numerous attempts to reload windows in the original foder [C:WINDOWS] has failed. Other than the stress of having to install all my previous programmes again accumalated over the last 4 years, there are important messages in outlook express 6 inbox which I need to access. I wish to know the how to go about this from Win2000 or WinME after I reload the OS in another folder. Any help will be appreciated.
Jimmy

Outlook Express Folders are actually files by the same name with the extension of .dbx. Doing a File Search should bring them up and they can be imported back in or copied to be used on a different computer.

If that doesn't work try DBXtract from http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx to extract the individual messages.

Thank you for using your time to offer the tip. I was able to access the messages after searching all .dbx files and importing the said files from outlook express File/import/messages menu. I hope your advice will aid others. May God bless you abundantly
