Hi. From time to time my pointer leaps to the top
or side of the window and freezes. I then have to use the keyboard to re-start, when it normalizes. Can anyone identify the cause of this and how to rectify it ? It can be annoying in the midst of some work.

I should have added : Windows 98SE, Pentium 800MHZ, NVidia Geforce2 MX400/400, SB PCI (WDM), various protective programmes.

When you said pointer..., you mean mouse?

There are few things to check.

1. Mouse, physical mouse
2. Mouse driver
3. memory, maybe something in the background is running that caused the problem.

Many thanks. I suspect that an old mouse might
be the problem. I'll have a look at re-installing the driver. I haven't added any new programmes from when it was working normally.

I have the same problem!

I run Win XP in my laptop [Vaio]. I never have any problems! However, I run Win Me in my Desktop [V2Premier]. Recently I am having terrible problems of instability. It started locking up with no reason. This lockup problem started getting more and more frequent. Now, I get lockup every few minutes of use. I have stopped using my desktop! Can you suggest a reason, diagnosis and remedy?

Thanks, Pranab Bagchi
