Problem after downloading Media Player (WME)

I have downloaded Media Player update from a prompt that I kept getting every time I use the player and now I can't even get to my Control Panel. It gives me an error message saying that I do not have accsess and to contact Microsoft.
I'll appreciate your help.

if the solutions provided in the above doesn't correct the problem, then rename CONTROL.INI, re-boot and see if Control Panel opens. If not, then test whether the problem disappears when you boot to Safe mode.
