Adding subtitles on dvd (WXP-Home)

I am interested in using an application which will allow me to add subtitiles on any given dvd track.Eg. I backup a movie and i need french subtitles and the movie only support english and german, i would like to be able and add my own subtitles on the movie. Any ideas for any applications? Please help me its urgent!!!

Using Windows XP Pro SP1
System: Pentium 4 2.6GHz, 512MB Ram, 80 GB IDE drive, nVidia Geforce 4 MX 440, SoundBlaster Audigy 2
