Can't open attachments (WXP-Home)

I can't open attachments in Outlook Express. In Hotmail is lets me download it and save it but when I try to open it states the file can't be found. I also can't click a email address link within an email to send a new email(In Outlook Express) It says my email client is not properly in installed. HELP!!!!!

What version of IE are you using. If IE6, you have OE6 and it automatically forbids you to open any attachment. This is a built in safety mechanism.
Open OE, go to tools, options, security and uncheck the " Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened" box. You should now be able to open all your attachments.
