low system performance (WME)

I check the system performance each time I access the computer. Lately it peaks at around 64% but rapidly declines to as low as 3%. At that point one application said there was not enough memory to load graphics. Mouse reaction also slows down remarkably.

Prevent unnecessary programs from running in the background with Windows. Go to Start &gt; Run type "msconfig" (as long as you are nut running Windows 95 or 2000) &gt; startup tab &gt; deselect programs to prevent them from loading with Windows. Be carful not to disable you anti-virus. That should free your system resources. For a start.
