'can't find shell.dll (W2K)

Dudes:

Installation CD claims can't find shell.dll but I have a shell.dll in winnt, system and system32 - there's only one occurrance in my reg under IE / FilesNamedMRU - what's the problem?

Click START & choose RUN

Type:

regsvr32 shell.dll

Press OK. You should have a dialog box come up saying successfully registered. Do that for all shell.dll's

The 'FilesNamedMRU' that you mentioned in the registry is the key that holds your find files MRU list.

If you press F3, type in another file to search for, you'll see it appears under the 'FilesNamedMRU' key too

If you want to delete all you find file MRU's then delete the 'FilesNamedMRU' key & then recreate it if there are many entries there or just delete the values (right pane) one-by-one.
