I downloaded the Registry Viewer 1_0 from http://www.winguides.com/software/category.php/7/ and tried it. I want to uninstall it now. But I can't see any delete option if I right click the icon on my desktop. The regsvr32.exe /u d:\regview.dll command gives me the following error:

d:\regview.dll was loaded but the DLLUnregisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered.

Please help me out. Thanks.

If you can't find an un-install option you will have to zap it manually. Open Search (with all hidden folders open) with Registry Viewer 1_0 in the search window and delete all related files that show in the results. Next, do the same thing in the Registry. Run regedit select Edit > Find and again type Registry Viewer 1_0. Delete keys for Registry viewer. Note: good idea to export a copy of the Registry first.

Hey, thanks. It worked! But the search string was Registry View. Registry Viewer 1_0 was simply my (wrong) way of writing the filename. Anyway, it worked. Cheers!

You're welcome. Good to hear you're rid of that program. /images/forums/icons/smile.gif

BTW do you want a Gmail account?

Thanks for asking, but Comcast is my ISP and I use their web based email. The last thing in the world I want to do is deal with another email account. /images/forums/icons/smile.gif

I have this same problem with the exact same error. I tried the method detailed above (searching for "registry view" with Hidden files viewable and deleting all returns for "registry view" and deleting all hits for "registry view" in my registry). Now I have the little blue crumbly cube thing stuck on my desktop with no text under it (it said "Registry View" before I deleted things). As before, r-click gave no option for delete (I have only Open/Explore/Create Shortcut). L-Click/Delete key does nothing, drag and drop to recycle bin does nothing. Please help!
