When trying to play Freecell, I noticed that the name is screwed up and has weird symbols instead of "Freecell". After opening a new game, everything looked ok, but the cursor remains as an hourglass and the program does nothing else. How can I fix this, or where can I find a download of the exact same version?

Don't need a download, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup tab. Find and uncheck Freecell, click Apply and OK back out, reboot, repeat but put the checkmark back in. This will uninstall Freecell [or any other applet chosen] and then clear it from memory then re-install it. May need your Win98 CD at hand.

That didnt work, and now I cant enable Applications > Games again. All you have done is create another problem for me.

Since that applet [and the procedure] is part of Windows [all versions] I'd hazard a guess that there is another issue at work, such as a virus or worm. Try Start, Run, and type in SFC, let Windows replace any corrupt/missing files.

I doubt that it is the case of a virus. I recently formatted my hard drive, and it happened before that too. And now I have lost all of my games under Applications, and I cant seem to get them back.

You can find the windows games in Windows Update. Run the scan and select the "Windows98" tab when it's done.. Make sure these have the same games as yours.

While your there you may as well install all the critical updates. It can't hurt.
