Hi there all,

I have a problem on a network I am hoping someone here can sort out.

Network Environment:

Windows NT4 Machine - Domain Controller
- DHCP Server
- Runs Accpacc related stuff
-WINS Server

Windows 2000 Machine - File Server

Cajun Switches
Sonic Firewall

Now, all the servers have static IP addresses ie.

209.203.20.x

Now, I want to change the DHCP server range for the clients, so it changes from 209.203.20.x to 192.168.0.x (internal range)

However, when I use the DHCP manager on the NT machine, and I change the IP range, none of the client machines can logon....

They keep getting an error like... unable to locate the dhcp server (even though it is running), or unable to find the domain controller.

If anyone could help me with this problem, I would greatly appretiate it.

Thanks

Brf

Your servers will have to be on the same subnet as your workstations. You will have to change them to 192.168.0.x first.

Release the IP address first in the workstations with the command:

ipconfig /release

And then renew the leasing:

ipconfig /renew
