I have run sysprep as described on many webpages. After I run sysprep I colne the image and then restart the computer. When the original machine starts it fails to load and asks to pick one of the following.
Start Win Normally (does nothing freezes on winxp loading screen)
safe mode (says system is not fully installed, informs to finish installation)
last known good configuration. (says win is corrupt and asks to repair with win xp cd.
when i try to repair, it gets to the product key and then it gets stuck. Keyboard and mouse are frozen and I can't enter the product key.
This happend before so I attempted to create an answer key via sysprep.inf file so i wouldn't ahve to enter the product key, but the same problem occurs. I think the answerkey is supposed to work when sysprep works correctly and restarts and automatically re-detects the plug and play features. If you try to repair the installation with the cd, the answer key it ignored.
