I set up my network of 3 computers running XP Pro at my store. My host is connected to my DSL and no matter what I try I haven't been able to share my internet connection like this. I have set up ICS and all that.
I decided it would be safer for now anyway to set up a network using 1 PCI card and hub, then share my internet through another PCI card and Router. This allows my internet sharing and also allows a firewall configured to each computer users taste without interfering with the Network.
My problem is that I don't seem to be able to be logged onto both the network and internet at the same time. I am very new to networking, so please take it easy on me. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Garry

You have two network cards? One card is connected to your LAN and the other to the internet? From a command prompt do "route print" and post the result here.

I'm sorry it isn't in the nice neat rows DOS had them in.

You have a "Default Gateway" set up on both cards. You should only have one setup on your card connected to the internet, not on the LAN one.

Thank you!! It seems to work wonderfully on one of the clients, not on the others though. I'll keep playing with them though. If you have any more thoughts I'd really appreciate them!

Great! Probably your machine connected to the internet was trying to use the LAN-side to get to the internet, rather than the router-side....

I have no experience with XP's Internet Sharing though, so you will have get help from someone who knows how that works.... Personally, the only way I have done it is to connect the LAN to the router, so all the workstations use the router to get to the Internet and not use XP's Internet Sharing at all.
